The city of festivals truly hits its stride in the summer, and Edmonton has a jam-packed event schedule for July. Live music, dramatic performances, delicious food, and plenty of games and activities are sure to have something of interest for everyone!


Edmonton International Street Performers Festival

  • When and where: July 8th - 17th in City Hall and Churchill Square
  • What it is: More than 60 international artists take over Sir Winston Churchill Square and put on more than 150 public outdoor performances that are accessible to anyone - even kids. From stilt walkers to jugglers to everything in between, entertainment happens at the street level to give you a uniquely interactive experience. 
  • How much it is: The Street Performers Festival honours the pass-the-hat tradition to show appreciation for the creativity of the artists.   

Freewill Shakespeare Festival

  • When and where: June 21st - July 17th at the Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park
  • What it is: The Freewill Shakespeare Festival presents Romeo And Juliet and Love’s Labour’s Lost in a uniquely seasonal outdoor environment at the Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park. Audiences have an opportunity to experience the intelligence and wit of Shakespeare and delve into the thematic relevance of his work that still resonates in our modern world.

A Taste of Edmonton

  • When and where: July 21 - 30th in Sir Winston Churchill Square
  • What it is: A Taste of Edmonton is entering its 30th year as one of Edmonton's most popular festivals with new additions from 9 new restaurants, interactive competitions, and an increased focus on independently-owned vendors. As always, there will be plenty of live music from established artists like Shawn Desman, Prozzak, and Born Ruffians, as well as hometown acts like Livy Jeanne, Mitchmatic, and Scenic Route to Alaska. 
  • How much it is: Entry is free and food tickets are available at ticket booths on location.

Interstellar Rodeo

  • When and where: July 22-24th in Hawrelak Park
  • What it is: Interstellar Rodeo is celebrating their fifth year of bringing an eclectic mix of performers across a wide variety of options, while staying true to their origins and emphasizing innovative artists in roots and Americana. Interstellar Rodeo is set to be one of Edmonton's biggest music festivals of the summer with their most youthful lineup to date including performances from Sam Roberts, Lord Huron, the Strumbellas, Cat Power, Jose Gonzalez, and Reuben and the Dark.

K Days 

  • When and where: July 22 - 31st at Northlands, 116 avenue and 73 street
  • What it is: K Days marks the annual transformation of Northlands Park into an arena packed full of games, rides, entertainment, concerts, shopping, and plenty of food and family activities. This year, they're doubling the excitement with 20 concerts on two stages, including performances by Coleman Hell, The Trews, Matthew Good, and X Ambassadors.

Lawn Summer Nights

  • When and where: 6:00pm every Thursday in July at the Commonwealth Lawn Bowling Club
  • What is it:  Lawn summer nights started in Vancouver and has grown into a national fundraiser that's raised over 1.4 million dollars to help those living with Cystic Fibrosis in Canada. Grab yourself and a group of three friends and get ready to hit the greens!
