Bastids BBQ debuts in Edmonton this Sunday August 19th and we’re incredibly stoked to be a part of it. Featuring a stellar lineup of local DJS, with food provided by Grandin Fish & Chips Batids BBQ will be taking place at the parking lot beside Vignettes Building 2:00pm - 10:00pm // 18+Official afterparty to follow at 9910 10-late.
The common will be closed for our annual summer break (from August 6- August 12). We will be back to regular hours on Monday, August 13th. We hope everyone is having a great summer and look forward to bringing you lots of great events in the upcoming months.
Our fifth beer collaboration is launching July 12th! For our fifth collaborative brew we worked with Edmonton nano-brewery, Bent Stick Brewing, and local Edmonton rock band, The Wet Secrets. Combining their love for beer and rock & roll, the Hopstache Red ISA was crafted. A hop-forward beer with a slight hazy amber colour and aromas of citrus and tropical fruit. A light malt backbone provides a grainy malt sweetness to the brew that balances out the Citra and Mosaic hoppy goodness. The Hopstache Red ISA finishes clean, light and super-dry.
The Hopstache Red ISA will launch Thursday July 12th with a streetcar cask party, hosted by Sherbrooke Liquor, followed by The Wet Secrets show at 9910 where they will be playing their recently released album, The Tyranny Of Objects! The beer will launch on tap at The Common on Friday, July 13th, as part of a Bent Stick Brewing tap take-over that will run July 13th to July 27th.
Our annual Canada Day party is back at the Common. Featuring Chicken and Waffles and a pint of Alley Kat beer for only $17, with patio DJ’s playing all sorts of fun summer jams all day long. We will be open from 2pm-10pm.
This coming Thursday, in collaboration with Passion for Pork, the common proudly presents: Swine & Dine. A four course dinner created by Chef Jesse-Morrison Gauthier celebrating Alberta pork.
Passion for Pork is a local organization created by Sharman Hnatiuk and Vincci Tsui, that helps spread there love of all pork related things through the various outlets of social media, hosting pop up restaurants, and educating the public in general about the versatility of such an amazing (and tasty!) protein.

Let us introduce Uncommon hoppy saison. Our latest beer collaboration with Situation Brewing, one of our favourite local breweries based in Edmonton. This session saison brings Liberty and Southern Cross hops together with Lemon and Pine flavours. A perfect beer for summer sipping. Uncommon Hoppy Saison is part of a Situation Brewing tap takeover that will be running from April 9-21.
Join us Sunday (April 15) for another edition of our infamous Hip Hop Brunch, featuring custom brunch selections by Chef Jesse Morrison Gauthier, with music provided by Gold Blooded DeeJays & Justin Foosh. As always Tables are all first come first serve so put on your best brunching outfit and head on down.
Downtown dining week will be going on from March 9- 18. Now in its 15th year Downtown dining Week is a great way to indulge in many of downtown’s best restaurants. The Common is once again proud to be a part of this event and will be offering up an exclusive 2 course lunch menu for $18 and a 3 course dinner menu for $30.
Meet 9910 Problems Hay-Z IPA! A collaborative beer between the Common and Parallel 49 brewing. Over the past few months we teamed up to work on a beer that would represents the best from us both and we’re extremely proud of the result. 9910 problems (garnering it's name from our address and inspired by our love of music as a play on Jay Z's 99 problems ) is a Hazy IPA that boasts peach & tropical fruit aromas while flavours of honeydew, grapefruit flesh and peach rise up to meet the palate. Although Hay-z is an IPA, it is light-bodied and sessionable. It finishes with a resiny edge that is unexpected but also complimentary to this beer. The Malts include - Pale, Oat and Melanoidin, and the Hops in the recipe include Mosaic, Amarillo, Simcoe. Hazy IPAs, or New England IPAs are favourite amongst customers and staff alike at the Common, and pair well with burgers, chicken and beef dishes. We will be debuting our brand new brew as part of a full Parallel 49 tap takeover featuring 14 other delicious brews on February 26th.
Join us this Saturday as we celebrate one of most prolific west coast hip hop producers of all time: Dr.Dre with our good friend DJ Pump. Dre Day is an annual celebration of all things Dre in collaboration with Burlesque Of North America. Dre Day events have been taking place the first weekend of February for over a decade. Expect a night of g-funk anthems, west coast classics and all things Dre, spun by the the talented DJ Pump with support from DJ Echo & Justin Foosh.
We are wrapping up the warm days in yeg with a Sunday afternoon block party. October 1st, 2-10pm at the vignettes outdoor space (10004 - 103 ave). There wil be free access to the Vignettes installations, BBQ by The Common and Grandin Fish & Chips, beer, cocktails, DJs, bands & live art. $20 tickets include entry and food. Canada’s very own party-rocking turntable champion AKA Skratch Bastid is back at the Common
Having rocked the bar many times, Skratch Bastid is now ready to raise it. The Bastid has become one of Canada’s most in-demand DJs and respected producers, but don’t think it happened overnight. From his humble beginnings a decade ago as a teenager in Halifax- pumping out mixtapes from his bedroom and earning a loyal following already back then- he slowly spread his skills first at DJ competitions like DMC, ITF, and Scribble Jam and now around Canada and the world as a widely recognized go-to guy for party-rocking. The illest redhead on turntables has since gone viral.
